Well….. it’s summer, actually it has been for a while. hehe

So many of my ambitions for summer vacation never happened, big surprise. for a while I was kind of bummed about how many things I haven’t done, but I am getting over it and beginning to look forward to going back to school.

My family still hasn’t gotten it together and taken a real vacation yet, but we have finally decided to go camping in Vermont for the first week in September. it looks like a really cool place to explore, a nice mix of natural beauty and artsy fartsy culture.

I also have a few projects I want to finish before I go back to school, a plaid tank top I am sewing, some arm warmers I began knitting in the Spring, and a neck-warmer/ cowl that I am knitting. I am also going to makeover my mt. bike to bring back to school with me. putting on road tires, getting some baskets, ect. My old Schwinn road bike that I took last year is not in great shape after spending much of last year being drowned in torrential downpours. I just feel more confident taking my Mt. bike which has had a recent tune up, and this year I will be able to store my bike under cover.

Well, this has been a brief update for all u folks that are just dying to know what evil-mastermind schemes I have been up to…… Sorry to disappoint, hehe

Finished the Hat! February 10, 2009

Yay! Last night I finished my Inga hat while I was talking to my mom on Skype! I love it!

happiness!

happiness!

Of course I would finish it after all that cold weather we had last week! Oh well, if nothing else I can wear it when I go home for Spring break and my Birthday! 21 baby! whooot! hahahaa! I am definitely excited for that one! And I am finally going to get my drivers licence too! not that that is really going to help me with my endless state of carlessness….. 😛 Oh well, best not to dwell on that… I will just focus on how much I love my hat.

In other news, I finished my mill block project with out any trouble, though a couple of measurements are a hair off. This however makes me feel quite guilty because so many people are going through loads of blocks and not getting a good one. 😦 In Computer Aided we got a new project, we have to design a tradeshow booth in Rhino, I am a little unsure of my design so far, but I think I am designing for Bianchi Bicycles. Or maybe, if that doesn’t work out, Smart Car. ?? we’ll see.

And my closing statement, I am making spaghetti for dinner, yummy!

A Beautiful day in Savannah! February 9, 2009

My Lord! I love this beautiful weather! Today it supposedly got to 76 degrees! I am so glad the warm weather is back, it has been cold for way too long.

So, this morning during class I finished off my milling project for model shop class, I think it turned out pretty good, and I didn’t even have to do multiples like most people did! that made me happy….. Anyway, after class I took my bike and ran a few errands around town before going to 5 guys for lunch and then shopping! I went to Urban Outfitters to buy some coolio green nail polish that I saw the last time I was there. I felt a little guilty because I know how many bad chemicals are in nail polish, but I figure if all my other body products are organic one little bottle of nail polish won’t hurt. Plus it looks really cool.

See? totally worth the risk

I also bought some cool coral beads from a bead shop on Broughton, did a honey tasting at The Savannah Bee Company (yummy! especially the black sage honey!), and got a very good iced raspberry Americano from the Ambrosia Cafe. Over all, a very pleasant and succesful day!

Here is a pic of my lamp project, I really like it, but I got a B on it. I guess because my seam between the two halves is not completely invisible.

And finally, my knitting wip! The Inga hat knit up in Dale of Norway Freestyle. I really love this pattern, It is my first color work project!
